Tourism Secretary Alberto "Bertie" Lim resigns according to reports from radio stations. Secretary Alberto Lim was not available for comments and interviews when he was called through his cell phone, according to ABS-CBN-DZMM broadcaster former Vice-President Noli de Castro who anchored the morning radio program.
Months ago, there were rumours that Bertie Lim was one of the three cabinet secretaries that were not in good terms, with the President. According to reports, the resignation was received by the President. He was to be replaced by Mon Jimenez an ex advertising man or by Riza Hontiveros of Akbayan Partylist and Liberal party candidate who was not lucky enough to win her senatorial bid last election (May 2010).
Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim came from the influential Makati Business Club and one of the proponents of the open skies policy that will break the monopoly of Lucio Tan in the airline industry.
